This Spring, Neiman Marcus introduced us to the Spring palette they are calling ‘spice-market’ colors. Think of the rich and vibrant hues you would find in an aromatic spice market in Marrakech. Imagine the deep colors of saffron, sage, paprika and cinnamon when you imagine this warm and earthy palette. Usually reserved for Fall, these colors actually look fantastic with a tan and paired with pieces for the warmer weather.
I’ve been talking a bit lately about the bohemian trend we’re seeing this Spring, and buying a few pieces in this vein using these spice-market colors really brings about that 70’s vibe using a really fun palette. Big floral prints are in this Spring, but I am really loving the long Alice + Olivia skirt in an intricate global bohemian pattern. Think about tunic dresses in warm reds, deep oranges or some of the bright citron colors that are out this season. For pants, I’m loving these tailored Theory pants in a deep sage green. Recently I talked about pairing a bright strappy shoe to give an outfit a pop of color, and I think that a cobalt blue shoe would look fantastic with these.
Shoes & accessories are showing a really 70’s vibe this Spring, and this Marni clutch in a vibrant yellow and fringe detail is beautiful. Also, Summer suede is making a huge appearance and I absolutely love this chunky heel from Gianvito Rossi. I can’t decide if they are more tumeric or coriander as far as spice colors go, but I do know that they are stunning and would look great with just about anything.
Neiman Marcus has some beautiful spice-market color selections, but I’m seeing them everywhere…from J. Crew and Calypso St. Barth to Nordstrom and Saks. What do you think about this warm palette reimagined for Spring? If you’d like some guidance on which pieces would work for you and your wardrobe, please don’t hesitate to reach out and schedule an appointment with me. I’m more energized than ever with the gorgeous Spring trends in store right now and I’d love to help you build your wardrobe to include them.
