Spring Shoe Trends…from Pretty to Practical

by Mar 31, 2015blog0 comments

Gianvito Rossi Colorblock MulesShoe trends abound this Spring and there are so many options to sleep your feet into…from a major comeback of the mule to practical yet pretty platforms. The looks are modern, feminine, fresh and will take you all the way through the warmer seasons and into the Fall.

Mules

Once made super popular by Carrie Bradshaw and friends in the late 90’s and early 00’s, the mule is a backless style that was originally introduced as a kitten heel and super feminine. Making a comeback on the runways of Céline, Chloé and Victoria Beckham last year, the mule is still incredibly popular this season and comes in styles from a sleek stiletto to chunky heels and from sparkling embellishments to modern monochromatic.

Style these sexy and modern styles with skinny jeans and a jacket or with dresses. I’ve been using them to complete some incredibly chic looks on behalf of my clients this Spring – and they’ve looked fantastic. Here are three options for this stylish Spring shoe:

Flatforms/Platforms

Another classic style making a comeback is the platform flat or flatform. Equally as stylish as they are functional, here is another example of a new twist on a classic shoe. Tom Ford showed them on the runway last season and I loved them then! This year they are everywhere and they’re all about ease while still keeping an element of cool to your outfit.

Fringe

Fringe. It’s everywhere…from clothes and shoes to bags and jewelry. For those of you who know me, my style definitely has some bohemian elements to it and so I am definitely working some fringe into my wardrobe.

Fringe has its benefits, but only when you use just one piece in your outfit. I promise it’s all you need. It is such a cool bohemian statement and super eye-catching, so use it in a bag or an earring or as in the case here, some beautiful suede shoes with fringe detail.

I hope that you are considering how you’ll freshen up your wardrobe this season. I’ve been offering group personal shopping outings for my clients, either as a celebration or just to do something different with friends. Shoe shopping together can be a blast when done in the company of friends (and someone who can give you advice on what works best for your wardrobe).
