Fall Handbag Trends

It’s Fall, and dare I say almost the holidays, so you may be overdue to refresh your wardrobe with the latest fall handbag trends. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean breaking the bank to buy a coveted trend. I have researched several brands, some may even be new to you, but they all have this in common, under $600 and most are under $300.

I’m a big handbag person and I do not mind shelling out money for a bag I love if it’s what I need and know I will be happy wearing for years to come. I’m always excited though by the prospect of a new quality bag that I don’t have to save for months to purchase Below are the season’s most trend forward styles and colors and all are shoppable!

Fall Handbag Trends

1. Oversized Totes

Oversized totes are making a big statement this fall. These bags not only offer ample space for all your essentials but also add an effortless chicness to any outfit. Leather and suede give these bags a luxurious feel, perfect for both day and night.

Large totes are great for several reasons but be careful to choose a bag that works for your body frame, not necessarily something you could carry a small child in.

2. Mini Bags with a Twist

While oversized bags are in, mini bags continue to hit the runways and streets. This season, expect to see fun shapes and details. From animal prints to metallic finishes, mini bags add a unique and unexpected look to your outfit. Pair them with tailored pieces for a juxtaposition of elegance and whimsy.

3. Textured Fabrics

Texture is everything this fall! Look for handbags featuring materials like quilted leather, suede, and woven fabrics. These textures evoke a sense of warmth that aligns perfectly with the season. Look for bags in earthy tones or jewel colors like brown, burgundy, and olive to really capture the seasonal vibe.

4. Statement Hardware

Bold hardware is a trend that continues to grow. Think oversized buckles, chunky chains, and striking clasps. These details elevate simple silhouettes while adding a little edge to your outfit.

Stylist Tip: You can also add your unique sense of style by adding the ever-popular bag charms.

5. Vintage-Inspired Styles

Nostalgia plays a big role in fashion this year, and handbags are no exception. Vintage-inspired designs, such as structured box bags, soft satchels, and long top handles are everywhere.  These pieces seamlessly blend with modern styling while adding a quiet luxury component to your outfit.

6. Crossbody Convenience

Crossbody bags are always perfect for those on the go. They are as prevalent now as they’ve always been but have taken a bit of a back seat to the fresher styles coming out. For me this is an essential style to being comfortable and hands free for work and travel.

Stylist Tip: Pay attention to the strap length. If you are petite, you will typically need to be on the shortest notch and you may even need to professionally shorten the strap with a cobbler, this goes for chains as well. Adjustable straps are always a better option, but almost every bag can be fit to work for your height.
